Sao Paulo

This extensive metropolis is one of the worlds largest cities and by far south Americas biggest being home to over 18 million people. It is not generally considered to be a tourist destination but the buzz and vibe of the city is addictive making it well worth a short stay on any trip to Brazil.


The city is also home to a large variety of museums including many galleries and even a venomous snake farm which provides for an interesting if rather scary visit. Shopping is one of Sao Paulo’s major draws and this city has the most extensive shopping options of anywhere on the continent.

Brazil has a rich and successful sporting history with football being the number one pastime for millions and Sao Paulo is no exception, major stadiums can be found here and the atmosphere of a Brazilian football game is unrivalled. Indeed the legendary Pele perhaps the worlds greatest ever player was born just over 60 miles from the city in Três Corações.

Brazils other sport which it has enjoyed amazing success is motor sport and in perticular formular one. Perhaps the cities greatest son was Ayrton Senna the legendary driver was born here, on his tragic death the whole country went into national morning which shows the passion the country and indeed this city has for the sport that it also hosts on an annual basis at the Brazilian grand prix.
